Bookin' it!

Occasionally publishers send us ARCs (advance readers copies) of books before they are actually released.  This is great because it gives us the opportunity to preview what would work for our customers and bookstore.  From time to time we get to return the favor and share an ARC with customers and we use your feedback when placing orders for new books.  Here is the response to just such an exchange:  And let me say, we are always grateful for your feedback!

Father of the Rain by Lily King   Prize-winning author Lily King’s masterful new novel spans three decades of a volatile relationship between a charismatic, alcoholic father and the daughter who loves him.

Debra zoomed into the bookstore the other afternoon all goosepimply from reading this advanced reader copy that we shared with her.  While she still had about 30 pages to go, here are a few of her comments:  "...so clearly gave me a view of divorce from a kid's point of view without coming off as preachy!" ... " I am so captivated by this young girl's relationship with her parents..."  ..."It is if I have been living in a castle and came upon a window I had never looked out of!"
